Online Entry now Open for 2016!


We encourage you to pre-enter for the ride of your choice. It’s a very easy process through the British Cycling site, and here’s why we’re keen on online entry:

  • Maximises the funds raised for Charity by allowing us to have a more accurate projection on rider numbers
  • Pre-registered riders will have a “Fast Track” sign-in on the day; minimal queuing
  • Saves the participant money vs. entering on the day

5 Mile
£8 pre-registration, £10 on the day for single riders
£22.50 pre-registration, £25.00 on the day for a family entry*

25 Mile
£8 pre-registration, £10 on the day for single riders
£22.50 pre-registration, £25.00 on the day for a family entry*

60 Mile
£12 pre-registration, £15 on the day for single riders
No family entry option

For the 60 mile the course includes supplies from the feed station situated at a quarter and three quarters of the way along the route. For the Windmill Café at half-way, please have some change with you.

*Family entry includes two adults and up to two children. Please register the lead-adult online and we’ll record the other family members during sign-in on the day.

Donate through JustGiving! New for 2016…

If you’d like to make a donation in support of the event, you can do so via JustGiving directly to either the Brain Tumour Foundation or the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. We thought we’d add this option for those who may not be able to make it on the day, or if anyone wants to simply make a separate donation.

Since TeamGeorge is not a national registered Charity, we can’t setup a JustGiving page for his cause. However, we’ll even up the funds including rider entry fees, cash donations, raffle ticket sales etc. after the event to ensure each cause receives their share!

All-Systems-Go for 2016!

The annual Liam Pridmore Memorial Cycle Ride takes place this year on Saturday the 3rd September at the Golden Pheasant in Etton. The Committee that organise the event have been working hard to make this year’s ride as successful as the last few years. The event is named after Liam Pridmore from Glinton who died from a form of aggressive Brain Tumour in April 2012, aged just 13. Since this point the event has been held in his name and has raised in excess of £25,000 for local and also national charities.

The day consists of three cycle rides to suit all ages and abilities. There is a 60 mile Sportive Ride and a 25 and 5 mile ride for the more leisurely riders and children. Entertainment is available throughout the day from local musicians and bands, along with a BBQ and a very premium raffle taking place in the evening.

As well as The Brain Tumour Charity, this year’s ride is also raising funds for George Robinson from Stamford who suffered serious spinal injuries in July 2015 playing rugby for Stamford School. The team are hoping to donate funds to help towards the purchase of an All-Terrain Wheelchair. Alongside George, the organisers are also raising funds for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance in light of the excellent support given to Chris Fitzjohn from Maxey. Chris was involved in a serious accident at the beginning of 2016 and was air-lifted from the scene. More insight to their stories to follow shortly.

Registration for the rides will be open at The Golden Pheasant, Etton from 9.30am until 12 noon and riders can start at their leisure. So get “on yer bike” and get along to support a very worthy local event!

Maybe you tested your legs on the bike, joined us for the live entertainment and perhaps participated in our raffle? Maybe you won? However you supported us, on or around the event day on September 5th, we’d like to extend one very big THANK YOU. Once again, overwhelming support was received from Prince Energy, The Golden Pheasant and many other local businesses. The sustained and humbling support of the local community is fundamental to the event’s success.

We’re delighted to announce another successful year which sees us raising a grand total of £6,000! The Brain Tumour Charity, Teenage Cancer Trust and Cardiac Risk in the Young are this year’s nominated charities. Please SAVE THE DATE for next year’s event! Saturday September 3rd, 2016. 60 Mile Route – Small Diversion

Please note: The road through Wilsthorpe will remain closed on Saturday, despite our expectations.
No big problem. On approach to Wilsthorpe (52 mile mark) the route will be signed to turn right (as opposed to straight on) to head through Braceborough before turning left back into Greatford. Once in Greatford it’ll be another left, then a right onto Greatford Road. At that moment we’re back onto the original course.
Time permitting the Garmin route map will be amended.

Almost Event Day! Pre-Registration is still OPEN and the Weather is looking DRY!

We’re almost there! If you haven’t had a chance to pre-register online already, the system remains open until 1800hrs on Friday. Pre-registered riders can use Fast Track sign-in on Saturday. We strongly encourage you to use this system – it only helps us raise more. More details here.

How about the WEATHER? Most importantly it’s set to be a DRY day! Temperatures are expected to be around 15 degrees, so consider a light jacket.

Caught out by our sign-saboteurs on the 60 mile route last year? We’re taking several extra measures to ensure these lovely folk don’t get the better of us again! However, please prepare for the unexpected. If you have a Garmin, we strongly recommend you download the route. For those without, please ensure you familiarise yourself and also take a route card when you sign-in on Saturday morning.

The Golden Pheasant will be cooking up delicious breakfast butties from 0930 on Saturday – why not indulge if you feel you need the extra sustenance?!
